Thermasheet Board 10–100 mm Timber & steel studs Internal & external

Overview

Thermasheet can be fixed to timber or steel stud walls in internal or external applications. The boards are lightweight, easy to handle and install, and provide a strong, waterproof and stable substrate for tiles, microcement, render and other finishes.

Key points

  • Bead of MSP Sealant on studs before fixing boards
  • Corrosion-resistant screws with large washers
  • All board edges supported by studs or noggings
  • Seal every joint with MSP Sealant and reinforcing tape

You'll need

  • Thermasheet boards + MSP Sealant
  • Reinforcing tape, screws & washers
  • Utility knife or circular/track saw
  • Driver, caulking gun, level, PPE

Installation steps

  1. 1

    PREPARE FRAME

Ensure the stud frame is plumb, true and clean, with noggings installed where required. Check services are installed and clear of the board.

  2. 2

    APPLY SEALANT TO FRAME

Apply a continuous bead of Thermasheet MSP Sealant to the studs at each fixing line before placing the board. This helps with adhesion and support, and minimises movement.

  3. 3

    FIX BOARD

Position the board against the frame. Fix using corrosion-resistant screws with large washers at the appropriate centres (see the stud spacing guide below). Ensure board-to-board edges are supported by studs or noggings.
